FAQs
I have an event coming up that I’d love my makeup done for, how do I know how much it will cost?
Event makeup can often entail quite a few variables that can make it hard to give an accurate costing to. Please email Amber here explaining your event and she reply with an approximate price.
I have an event coming up that I’d love my makeup done for, and also my hair. Do you work with a stylist or do hair yourself?
I have trained in hair and feel confident with blow drying and adding curls and waves, as well as creating simple up dos. For anything more detailed, I like to pull in specialists from a group of trusted hair artists who I collaborate with when needed. I also work with some great stylists, so can recommend one if you feel like you’d like professional help in that area, too.
Do you have a single makeup brand you work with, or do you access a few different ones to create looks?
I am not affiliated with any one brand, preferring to cherry pick from the best of the best to create my looks. I love researching and exploring new releases, choosing star products from what’s on offer to create something truly bespoke.
Can I bring my own makeup for you to work with?
Yes, absolutely!
How many people can you have in a workshop?
I can accommodate up to five participants in a workshop, keeping things as focused and intimate as possible. Many people come in pairs, it’s entirely up to what makes you feel comfortable.
Can we bring refreshments to a workshop, or do you offer them?
You can absolutely bring refreshments with you, or I can provide a beautiful platter and your wine of choice built into the cost.
I’ve never used makeup before, will I still be able to join a workshop?
Absolutely! Wherever you’re at on your makeup journey I can definitely accommodate. Just bring an open mind, a sense of fun and a willingness to learn.
I’m getting married soon, how far in advance do I need to book your services?
I’m usually booked up to a year in advance when it comes to weddings, but anything can happen and sometimes I have gaps. The best thing to do is to enquire about availability, and bear in mind that January through to March is the busiest wedding period.
How many makeup trials will I need before my wedding?
Most people only require one trial run, but everyone is different. Occasionally a second is required if a bride wants to try a different look, or have changed their mind about the overall vibe of the day.
I have a big wedding party, will you need to bring an assistant, and how much will that cost?
I can absolutely pull extra people in to assist for larger weddings, but often it’s not necessary. Usually I can take care of hair and makeup for up to eight people, but if an extra artist is required then additional costs will apply that vary according to travel time and the required skill set.
How much do you charge for travel to weddings, and do you stay all day?
Yes I do charge for travel out of Auckland, and I can stay all day at an added cost (preferably by prior arrangement). Parking expenses will also be added for the CBD area or hotels.
